Like Peter Sellers portrayal of the gardener in the 1979 movie 'Being There' where a simpleton is mistaken for a wise and talented mind is embraced by the Whitehouse and its political establishment. It would appear the gardener has returnd to the Oval Office just as simple and stupid as Peter Sellers character in the movie.
Trump and Vance may well be good at pulling weeds while inept at intelligent governance.
Hi Amit, among all the Israeli journalists covering Trump you have the best understanding of his “nature” - your view is very much Realpolitik!
I noted your comments for a while - your “clear eyed” assessment on Call me Back most recently made your perspective exceptionally clear. Trump’s paradigm of leadership is uniquely “outer borough NYC”. Once you in - you can’t get out. Like Pacino in the last Godfather movie- they keep pulling me back in !
No other American President will do that for Israel.
The coming one will instead do much damage, not at all trying to be helpful in the Israeli matter of selfdefence!
Trump turned out to be a bigmouthed Monster which one should have expected not to follow through, I wonder if he believes his own words -as fast as he contradicts his self.
All I can think of, in light of Trump’s shocking capitulation, is that President Trump, now in his 80th year has the early stages of dementia. There is no other excuse for giving the terrorist regime of Iran everything it wants. Torturing and killing their own people apparently is being rewarded by Trump.
Trump is a petty, self serving person. I can understand some of the politics involved, but how about not constantly telling the world one thing one day, and something completely different the next. The majority of Americans don’t trust Iran, excluding the kooks who seem to prefer them over Israel. I’ll be glad when Trump is gone, but I also worry about who we’ll end up with, especially if it’s a Democrat.
RE “Hezbollah is in a desperate situation, and it is on the verge of breaking.” Are they really? Didn’t we hear that after the pager operation in 2024? And didn’t more of their missile stocks survive Israeli strikes, as proved to be the case since February 28?
Regarding the JCPOA, Iran was cheating and hiding nuclear activities from the IAEA, according to its own documents.
I'm sure you know, but al-Sharaa broke with those who went on to form ISIS early on and was one of their principal opponents in Syria as leader of Jabat al Nusrah. Wouldn't that be the more appropriate honorific?

"You f#$ked up. You trusted us."
Hoover to Flounder (Animal House)
Trump to...pretty much anyone.

MOU. Maybe Only Useless. Let Iran prove faithless and pay accordingly.
