Witkoff is a clown who is in the deep end of the pool but forgot he didn't know how to swim. He is oblivious to Middle East mentality, unless of course it's a real estate deal. Trump is a bigger fool than I thought, being led by fools (Kirshner, Witkoff, among others)
What if Turkey and Qatar are marginalized members of the board. Maybe having them to pressure pressure hamas is better than excluding them. If they want to undermine the defeat of hamas the majoririty of people in that group is going to raise their eyebrows.
Steve the naive! Love it! I have always called him Witless Wifkoff, myself. Trump seems to trust him because he’s a highly skilled sycophant. Trump wants badly to be given the Nobel Prize for Peace, so he’s willing to walk with eyes closed into political situations studded with landmines.
Trump‘s story in office is quickly turning into a Greek tragedy, where his character flaw (that is, seeking an international award that has long ago been emptied of any worth), is inexorably leading to his tragic end. The problem is that, unlike a play from the ancient world, all of us will suffer the tragedy as well.
My 2c fwiw. The inclusion of Qatar is a quid pro quo for the establishment of a $500m account holding Venezuelan oil out of the jurisdiction of US companies like Chevron which have claims on their confiscated assets.
Plus Trump always likes the secondary powers to be at each others throats.

All true but I'm still happy Harris didn't win as that would have been far worse.
Witkoff is an embarrassment.
