If, as the article states, the security services know who the leaders are, know the networks involved, and have identified the outposts from which they operate, then the question is no longer one of intelligence but of political will. What is stopping enforcement? Is it lack of evidence, fear of confrontation with parts of the settler movement, coalition politics, institutional reluctance, or some combination of all four? A state's legitimacy is not measured by its ability to identify lawbreakers but by its willingness to act against them consistently. As Segal suggests, the deeper issue is that these incidents test the state's monopoly on force and its ability to impose order on those who see themselves not only beyond effective restraint, but in some respects beyond the authority of the state itself. I share the concern about how hostile governments, media outlets, and politicians such as Miliband exploit these events, but that is ultimately a secondary issue. My greater concern is what the repeated failure to address them says about our own government's capacity and resolve to uphold the rule of law. External critics are not creating the problem; they are exploiting a vulnerability that we have been unwilling, or unable, to confront ourselves.
Unfortunately Israel has lost the PR war (at least for now) and between Europeans and the American left Israel can do no right. Particularly the Democratic Party (I used to say the left wing of the Democratic Party but now it’s just “the party”) has united blacks, Muslims, and rich, spoiled young Americans (too many are Jewish) into almost a one-issue party aka Israel.
Then again, there would be no "scourge" if the Arabs were to be resettled and relocated once and for all.....I have written before about the solution to the Sudeten German problem. Not advocating forced horrible deportation as happened to Jews in 1949-50 but doing what should have been done years ago......Leave it to CBS to only focus on Jews......
Please address the possibility that strong responses by citizen Israelis in Judea and Samaria to continuous Arab violence that has otherwise mostly become an accepted way of life might actually convince the Arabs to stop throwing stones, stealing sheep, cutting down trees, car ramming and other violence. The proper response to terrorism and chaos might well be giving it to those who started it.
At this sad inflection moment for pro Isreal Americans the woke leftest loon media will use this violence from settlers paint the entire nation

The scourge of Islam must be met head-on with extreme prejudice and violence

Question: When did they really fight it?
The settler violence commonly occurs on Shabbat, yet the perpetrators seem to be carrying beyond their settlements. What am I missing ?

Maybe Eisenkot and Netanyahu can find 'common ground' to ensure a safe & coherent United Israel, leaving the extreme parties out of government.
Such BS...
Example please.
