It deeply and always saddens me that, rather than allowing a dialogue, such a host stokes fire rather than reasoned discourse. But this is our world.

I commend you, Amit, for going into such a battle and standing upright as you do. I am just sorry that this is what you must do to meet false narratives. Thank you for all that you do, each and every day. For all of us. You are a blessing and I for one am deeply grateful.

Hi Amit, as someone who has followed your newsletter for a while now, I wonder if perhaps you could explain why in fact international journalists have not been allowed to enter Gaza. It did not seem to me that this question was properly answered in that short clip. I take it that you don’t tend to answer many of the comments here, from what I’ve seen, so if nothing else I hope this comment will stimulate conversation with others.

Another thing: I hope in the future you will refrain from including anymore such clips from Piers’s show. It’s not good for my blood pressure.

Matti Friedman has written extensively about how ALL journalists in Gaza before 10/7 were lying. It’s a shame Amit didn’t mention his exposure of the media’s lies - please read his Free Press article “ when we started to lie.”

The International Media is pro Hamas. Why would israel need more distorted news?

NANCE SCHMANCE's avatar

MIC DROP, Sara. :)

My guess: Anyone reporting from Hamas-controlled territory will report only what Hamas wants (that part is more an observation than a guess), and anything that happens to a Western journalist in Gaza -- which is a dangerous place -- will be laid at Israel's feet.

AnxiousPrune1656 - LOL, agree on the BP thing - I've never found a coffee yet that wakes me up more than listening to or reading Amit's phenomenal writings, which I then send out worldwide. Humbly submitted :)

"I wonder if perhaps you could explain why in fact international journalists have not been allowed to enter Gaza."

Why should they be allowed? Corporate Media is basically a bunch of Lying POS's. IF you think you're getting Real Unbiased news from them, you' dumber than dirt.

I have never heard any muslim speak of or deny loving their own children more than they hate Israel. We've seen the pictures of weapons placed under babies arms in their carriers and photographed; the jihadist videos training toddlers, young children, teens to be terrorists, encouraged and applauded hysterically by adult muslims, etc. I have never forgotten what Golda Meir courageously & sadly truthfully stated: There will be peace in the Middle East only when the Arabs love their children more than they hate Israel.

Were it not for Netanyahu, Likud could easily form a stable center-right government without the Haredi or the lunatics Ben Gvir and Smotrich.

Michael Berkowitz's avatar

Sure, because the Israeli Left would have no problem with a different leader of the Israeli Right.

Marianna Kornbluh's avatar

But why? I have never understood the reason of their hatred of Netanyahu.

Michael Berkowitz's avatar

Ari Shavit asked that question in a feature article he wrote in 1995 (they've been hating him at least that long), but as I recall, he didn't give a conclusive answer. I think it's a combination of them hating anybody who's opposing them politically, and especially the Likud, who are their "deplorables," the fact that Netanyahu is particularly talented and so particularly dangerous as an opponent and the fact that as an educated, well-to-do Ashkenazi, he *should* be on *their* side.

At a time when Israel risks greater isolation than ever before and when the next American administration, Democrat or Republican, is likely to be less pro-Israel than the current one, it's absolutely painful that a unity government is so distant.

Almost any poll shows that the 4 largest sensible parties, Likud, Yashar, BYahad and Yisrael Beitenu, would command a solid majority in the neighborhood of 70 MKs.

Perhaps this time President Herzog will exercise his constitutional authority to knock some heads together until they see sense.

The West's public opinion has nothing to do with who's in the Israeli government. It didn't shower Israel with warmth under Sharon, Barak, Olmert or Bennett.

NANCE SCHMANCE's avatar

Also, not to detract but add to the anti-Israel rhetoric: This today from the United Nothing: "An internal investigation has concluded that UNRWA humanitarian workers in Gaza 'very likely' participated in the massacre carried out by Hamas on October 7, which claimed the lives of 1,200 Israeli men, women, and children!"

I don't know why any Israeli or sane Jew would go on Piers Morgan. It's an exercise in futility.

NANCE SCHMANCE's avatar

Islamic religion indoctrinates lying to fulfill their jihadic massacring and annihilation of God's People, no matter the cost of their own people. (And I know I just preached to the "choir" on that.) The only 'truth' muslims embrace and propagate are their lies. It's been proven many of the Gazan "journalists" have been Hamas terrorists and carried out Oct. 7, 2023, to current date. My BP hit 530/480 just listening to these Piers bombarding you, Amit, demanding you answer his delusional 'truths' and then constantly interrupting you. But then I remembered that GOD is on His Throne, remembered how brilliant you are (and the other excellent Israeli on the far right I've seen countless times on iD24, YT, etc) and calmed down, because you are part of the proof why 22% of all Nobel Peace Prizes have been Jews. Todah rabah, Amit, and God bless and protect you and your family - from Christian mil mom in Commiefornia <><

Foul Play from the host. He doesn't even let you put down your opinion without interruption.

This not, I repeat not the way a discussion should go.

I understand you wanting to demonstrate your point, but it's useless to talk to people who made up their opinion and don't listen to anything or anyone with a different voice.

It' most aggrevating to watch this.

The reason Likud has not formed stable center-right governments with the other “natural” partners over the past number of years is simple: Netanyahu systematically double-crossed each party leader and rendered him so untrustworthy as to make joinder impossible. Gantz being only the latest and most outrageous example. Netanyahu insisted that, in the PM-sharing arrangement with Gantz, Netanyahu go first. But then Netanyahu orchestrated the fall of the Knesset, by failing to pass a budget, thereby screwing Gantz and forcing new elections. The only power-hungry opposition leader foolish enough to get back into bed with Bibi was Gideon Sa’ar, and we’ll see what happens after this election to him.
