The 15 point plan uproots the basic premise of the original agreement which was that Hamas would disarm before Israel withdraws. Secondly, the original plan did not leave Hamas in charge. This one does. Once they are already uprooting the basic premise of the plan the plan is null and void it has no chance of succeeding and in the end Israel will be blamed for for ending it so we should just end it now when it is clear to all that the plan is a hoax!!! From todays Arutz-7 which Amit quotes but is willing to ignore; "Officials in one of the countries in the region advised officials in another country to adopt a policy of tactical flexibility and reach an agreement with Israel, with the aim of “lulling" Israel into a false sense of security while preparations were underway for a large-scale military campaign.
Kan Reshet Bet reported that during contacts between the sides, the officials suggested that their counterparts reach an agreement with Israel in order to violate it at a later stage, while continuing parallel preparations for military action.
This approach is consistent with the pattern of conduct adopted by Yahya Sinwar, who created the impression in Israel that he was prepared to maintain calm in exchange for calm, while simultaneously working on plans for the October 7 massacre." It may not just be the politics of the coming election at all. I think It’s probably the double crosses and total failure of Oslo and the 2005 Gaza withdrawal and the scars of the Intifada’s and October 7th which have informed every political class into doubting outsiders “promises which is driving this resistance to the “Bored of Peace”.

The PR sticking point is the “credible pathway to a Palestinian state”, something the Saudis are hiding behind.
I say, let PR be met with PR. Prime Minister Netanyahu should announce that this credible pathway exists. It is the combination of Palestinian rulers publicly agreeing to the principle of “two states for two peoples” and the Trump “Plan for Peace” - the one unveiled in his first year and that Abbas rejected even before the derails were made public and - most importantly - opened the way for the Abraham Accords.
In this way, Israel sends a clear message of support to President Trump who is unlikely to back away from his first term offer. It will be a skunk thrown into the Arab garden party because they will have to choose between the U.S. and the Palestinians - which will be clarifying.
At least that will refocus the conversation, except for those whose minds are closed and for whom everything is Israel’s fault.
Relatedly, the same tactic should be applied to Iran. That regime insists that the U.S. commit to never attacking Iran or its “allies” who are identified as Lebanon, Yemen, Iraq and “Palestine”. The U.S. should publicly ask for a reciprocal commitment from Iran and its allies- who will include Israel, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon (the government only), Syria, Saudi Arabia … you get the idea. Let’s see what the Iranian regime has to say.
Of course, we can predict with a great degree of accuracy what will happen, but there’s value in shifting the focus - and it’s always fun (which is to say, depressing because of the moral rot it reveals) to watch most of the media turn into apologists for terror and anti-West protesters.

My friends are always talking about the Genozide Israel is committing… those who know that I am the daughter of a Jewish Mother and German Grandmother are strangely cautious/silent … I don’t trust the disarmament, I don’t trust Hamas, I don’t trust any state to enforce it, I don’t trust turkey… as I said… I feel lost. 🤷♀️🙋♀️

You might point out to your friends 1. The IDF is the 800 lb gorilla in that part of the world. 2. IF Israel were committing genocide in Gaza, by Jan 19 2024 there would not be any Palestinians alive in Gaza. 3. Suggest they do some studying on WWII.
