In North America, I have seen flight crew get expedited screening at security points. I wonder if this needs to stop. Because if the co-pilot brings a knife on board, that's a security failure.

Here's the thing Jews have to get, I mean really GET. Thee are people out in the world who don't care if you are Liberal/Conservative/Religious/Secular/Gay/Straight/Whatever, You're a Jew and they hate you and want to kill you.

OTOH There are those of us who Don't Hate You And Want To Kill You.

As an aside. I'm looking at the photo at the top, (Question): Is there some kind of law in Israel that says No Ugly Women? :-)

I can only say B'H with awe and absolute gratitude.

The hijacker didn’t need to smuggle a knife on board — all airliners have a crash axe on the flight deck.

Also on buses. This was added during one of the intifadas when a bus was attacked and few could escape. I don't know how life-saving it was but every bus has them.

Did not know! What can be done about that?!

They are there to give the aircrew means to escape the flight deck in the event the primary exit — flight deck door — isn’t available, and the sliding windscreens are damaged.

I don’t know that situation has ever happened. However, it is likely Malaysian flight 377 was hijacked using one, and is possible here.

Perhaps it is time to get rid of them.

A lot of ifs and woulds. We do not even know for the time being what exactly happened, what the motivations were, let if the attacker acted alone or on behalf of whom. It seems the weapon was not a knife but an emergency axe which is a mandatory safety item located inside the cockpit of all commercial airliners.

I hope the jihadi terrorist is extradited to the UAE instead of Israel for obvious reasons.
