It certainly put us in the right frame of mind to concentrate on the seriousness of the day. And, really for those over "the line," everyday is like a small Yom Kippur. Keep doing what you are doing.
You don’t have to be Jewish to abhor and abominate this kind of attack. You just have to be human and to realize that every time an innocent is murdered for no other reason than being who they are something precious dies with them in every human being.
Furthermore, in these same countries that so loudly condemn “settler violence” (which is wrong and ugly), attacks against Jews, including attempted and realised murder, far exceed the level reported in Judea and Samaria. Yet theses same governments are doing close to nothing to deal with their own hate crimes.
Precisely! We can debate extreme and even illiberal policy ideas, but we cannot accept immoral, tribal, eliminationist hate within polite society or our mainstream politics.
This hate, and all who espouse and sanitize it, must be ostracized, as we've done to marginalize and defeat other hate movements like the KKK here in the US, or it will normalize and destroy the West.
We must maintain this hate as an inviolable TABOO or we are done for.
If the court, as expected, rules in Shahedes favor, they will once again prove that they are the enemy, as if any more proof were needed. As far as the blood liable of "settler violence "; we spent all day Yom Kippur praying for world unity and peace (yes, check the nusach), yet I cant help feeling like Job, that the continued existence of this world is an affront to decency. And I would gladly rather mourn a Kikayon bush than the death of this miserable and immoral world.
